Hollywood, movie stars, and Mickey Mouse of course. On September 17, I visited with the Studio Chapter in Los Angeles. Actually, we all met at the Great Park in Orange County, California for a field trip to ride a tethered ballooon. The park was amazing - it used to be a marines air force station.
It was lots of fun to sit in a circle sharing favorite Disney things, such as favorite attraction and favorite food item.
The Studio Chapter was chartered on July 17, 1994 and presently has a membership of about 30 families. Meetings are held monthly in a community room at a local mall or the home of a member.
Annual events include a visit to the El Capitan Theater each May or June, a Halloween party, and a Christmas party. There is also a fall trivia challenge at the Disneyland Resort which is a charity fundraiser to benefit cancer research.
Past road trips have included Knott's Berry Farm (love that fried chicken at Mrs. Knott's), the Paramount Ranch (where Herbie the Love Bug was filmed), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Forrest Lawn (Tiki art exhibit), and the Grammy Museum. I wish that I had places like this in my community.
